What Hopcheck is
Hopcheck is a URL redirect tracing tool. You paste a URL, and the tool follows each redirect one hop at a time, displaying the full chain of redirects, status codes, and query-parameter changes. The tool makes HTTP requests on your behalf to the URLs you provide.
What Hopcheck is not
Hopcheck does not store, save, or log the URLs you trace. It does not crawl websites, scan domains, or follow links found on the final page. It does not send email, schedule checks, or maintain user accounts. Every trace is a fresh request, and the results are displayed only in your browser during that session.
Billing and payments
Hopcheck is currently free to use. No payment is required, no billing information is collected, and no subscriptions are created. The Free tier gives you unlimited URL traces with up to 10 hops per trace, query-string change detection, and plaintext HTTP hop warnings — all at no charge.
Planned paid plans. Pro ($9/month) and Enterprise (custom pricing) plans are planned for later in 2026. When they launch, the following terms will apply:
- What you buy. A Pro subscription grants access to extended hop limits (up to 50 hops per trace), batch mode (up to 25 URLs), and API access. An Enterprise subscription adds custom hop limits, batch mode, and dedicated support.
- Billing period. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. You will be charged on the day you subscribe and on each monthly anniversary thereafter.
- Failed payments. If a charge fails, we will retry automatically up to three times over seven days. If the payment still does not clear, your subscription will be suspended and downgraded to the Free tier. You will not lose access to previously traced results (none are stored), but paid features will be unavailable until the balance is settled.
- Refunds. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, you will receive a full refund. After 14 days, no refunds are issued for the current billing period, but your subscription will not renew. These refund terms apply only to the initial payment; no partial refunds are given for mid-cycle cancellations.
No payment processor is connected yet. The Pro and Enterprise plans are not available for purchase at this time. The checkout form on the pricing page is a demonstration only — no real payment is taken and no data is transmitted. Once a payment processor is connected and paid plans are ready, this section will be updated and the checkout will begin processing real payments.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Hopcheck only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not:
- Use the tool to harass, threaten, or harm any person or system.
- Submit URLs with the intent of overwhelming or attacking any server.
- Automate access to the tool in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on the infrastructure.
- Misrepresent the results or claim that Hopcheck certifies or validates any URL or destination.
No guarantee of accuracy
Hopcheck provides diagnostic information about the HTTP redirect chain for the URL you submit. The results depend on network conditions, server availability, and the behaviour of the servers along the chain at the moment of the request. We do not guarantee that the results are accurate, complete, or reproducible. The tool is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of Hopcheck shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the tool, including but not limited to reliance on the results, interruptions in service, or any loss of data or business opportunity.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Hopcheck after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
